My Notion Productivity Setup

Hey there, so just to give some context, I've been using Notion for about 4 years now, and it's become my go-to tool for managing everything from content creation to development work. What started as a simple note-taking app has evolved into a powerful system that helps me stay on top of my projects, track my learning, and organize my life.

I constantly get comments about my Notion templates and databases, so I'm breaking down the systems that are crucial for how I manage my time, projects, and stay on top of everything. I actually made a video walkthrough of my entire Notion setup if you'd prefer to see it in action. But if you're more of a quick-read person, let's dive into it!

My Complete Notion Setup (2024) - Templates & Systems

1. Full Stack Developer Roadmap

Full Stack Developer Roadmap
Provides a solid overview of what you need to learn as a full-stack web developer. Self-paced learning.

The first template I wanted to share is my full-stack developer roadmap. I created this as a full-stack developer myself, giving you a general overview of what you need to learn. It's organized into multiple chapters and modules with some personal notes. The roadmap is intentionally unopinionated - instead of being a full-on tutorial, it allows you to explore the content at your own pace.

The template breaks things down into key sections like "Fundamentals," "Frontend," "Backend," and "Databases," making it easy to navigate through different aspects of full-stack development. Each section has curated resources and learning paths which I'm sure will help build a strong foundation.

2. Content Manager OS ($$$)

Content Manager
This is the operating system of my content creation workflow. Note: this is the only paid template in this list. All other templates are free.

This is the home of my content creation workflow, and it's definitely one of my bigger pages. It comprises four major components: projects, tasks, partners, and earnings tables. I've been using this since my very first video on the channel. I really believe that good content starts with good writing and planning, and this template helps me think through how to convey emotions and explain ideas in my videos.

The best part is its flexibility - you can adapt it for any type of content creation, whether you're doing YouTube, writing, or something else entirely. This template has been my secret weapon - it helped me grow my own channel to 60k+ subscribers in just one year. It's saved me countless hours that I would've spent building a system from scratch.

3. App Development Notes

This is my personal worklog for development notes - we use other tools for team task management. I use it to track standups, sprint planning, postmortems, and weekly worklogs. The cool part is the AI summary feature that gives me a quick overview of my notes (which you can customize the prompt for), and I can even ask questions about past notes using Notion's Q&A feature.

4. Personal Finance

I believe it's good to have a simple budget and track recurring expenses or subscriptions. I like this template because you can make use of table calculations and add categories or tags. However, I don't use this as much anymore - I don't think Notion is the best tool for granular personal finance tracking since money coming in and out isn't always consistent.

5. Reading List

This is pretty self-explanatory, but I was testing out the Notion Web Clipper Chrome extension with this one. It's not perfect, but I love how quickly I can turn any website into a readable page and access my reading from any device. The web clipper is especially handy for saving articles and blog posts I want to read later.

6. Snippets

This is just a place where I keep things like email templates or other text I find myself typing out multiple times. I'd like to improve this by creating some kind of automation where I can quickly fill in variables and copy snippets to my clipboard.

7. LeetCode Notion Template

This template helps me practice for coding interviews. Instead of memorizing solutions, it helps me think critically about problems. I can define the problem, write down my solution and thought process, use a whiteboard space for sketching, add code blocks, and note the time complexity. It's been my go-to for interview prep, keeping all my practice problems and solutions organized in one place.

These templates have been my productivity backbone for years now and what I've been iterating over time. They're not perfect, but they've helped me stay organized and focused on what matters. Feel free to grab any of them and make them your own - that's the beauty of Notion. Let me know if you end up using any of these or if you've got questions about how I use them!
